Community Capacity Building

Community Capacity Building | DAC Enterprises, Inc. Boston | Boston, MA | (617) 265-0601

Within a community, there are always going to be obstacles that stand in the way of effective change and betterment for all members of the society. Community capacity building focuses on understanding these obstacles and addresses them by working with individual members of the community to effect greater change across the board and improving the overall image and perception of the community.

At DAC (Developing Active Communities) Enterprises, Inc. Boston, our goal is to encourage community members to think globally and act locally. We work with families and women in local communities to build relationships, create self-realization and empowerment, and provide opportunities for education and activism. Our non-profit capacity building programs cover everything from establishing financial stability to communication strategies, to image empowering and preventing violence.

Deborah Cox, executive and founder of our organization, has created a wide variety of training programs, seminars, and community resources to address common problems that reach across age, class, financial and racial boundaries. Our activities are designed to promote image empowerment and self-actualization of the person or the people in our communities, but remain flexible enough that programming can be tailored to meet specific participant’s needs.

Community capacity building workshops we offer include:

• Computer Literacy Basics
• Being Prepared: Life Planning (Health Issues And Creating A Will)
• CPR and First Aid Certifications
• Social Graces and Community Etiquette
